While choosing a product, one should worry more about aspects like hardware, design, build quality and longevity than the country of origin.
Even if one cares about the country of origin, one can blindly buy an Asus product, as it is not a Chinese entity.
History of ASUS
Asus was founded in Taipei in 1989 by T.H. Tung, Ted Soo, Wayne Hsieh, and M.T. Liao, all four have previously worked at Acer as hardware engineers. At this time, Taiwan had yet to establish a leading position in the computer hardware business.
Intel Corporation would first supply any new processors to more established companies such as IBM, and Taiwanese companies would have to wait about six months after receiving IBM’s engineering prototypes.
According to the company’s history, Asus built a motherboard prototype to use the Intel 486, but it had to do so without access to the actual processor. When Asus contacted Intel to request a processor to test, Intel seemed to have a problem with its own 486 motherboard.
Asus solved Intel’s problem and it turned out that Asus’ own motherboard worked correctly without any further modifications. Since then, Asus has been getting Intel engineering samples ahead of its competitors.

In the process of restructuring, a highly critical pension-plan restructuring effectively reduced the existing pension balance to zero. The company paid all the contributions made earlier by the employees.
