Good news for Team India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s return before T20 World Cup
LiveInfo: India and South Africa T20 International series has now reached the final match, after India’s back-to-back victories in the last two matches, one is yet to see the positive aspects of the series, especially with coach Rahul Dravid with the new ball. Will be very happy with the return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar as India’s best bowler option
The medium-pacer is surely back with a bang in a way that even his most ardent fan would not have guessed. With his return, the Indian attack with the old guard of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami and new names like Avesh Khan now looks even more positive.
Bhuvneshwar was not in his form for a long time, and last year was when everyone started questioning his form or fitness. Both IPLs in 2020 and 2021 were forgettable and their outings in South Africa were no better either.
The decline in his form was quite evident when Sunrisers Hyderabad brought him back into the team at almost half price, a clear commentary on his form at the time. So many were questions about the franchise’s intelligence in buying him back, when six teams didn’t even bother to bid for him.
But from here things changed. IPL 2022 was likely to have the return he was looking for, after which Bhuvneshwar Kumar was once again one of the leading bowlers.
South Africa have been on the defensive against him throughout, especially since he has been lethal at the top, playing that opening spell with six wickets unthinkable.
Bhuvi now holds the joint record of taking 33 wickets in the powerplay jointly and there is still one match left in the South Africa series that means he can break that record.
With Bumrah and Shami expected to return for the England series, Bhuvneshwar has at least not done any damage to his place in the limited overs format. Also, he is now a definite option for the ICC T20 World Cup as well, and that is welcome news indeed, as each side will need the experience to make a difference at that level.
It is expected that his fitness will remain intact in the midst of all this, although this bowler is definitely looking good at the moment. He has focused on what his strengths are and the results are showing again. This is quite an impressive comeback for a fast bowler when the entire cricketing fraternity is demanding for fresh, young and of course, fast talent. For More Join liveInfo
