Mumbai: The ninth match of the IPL is being played between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians. In this match, Rajasthan batted first and scored 143 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Jose Butler scored his second century in the IPL for the team. He hit 100 fours off 11 balls with five fours and five sixes. With his innings, Rajasthan scored 193 runs. Butler now has the Orange Cap in his name with this innings. Butler has overtaken Kolkata Knight Riders’ Andre Russell in the case. Russell scored 40 in the match against Punjab on Friday to win the Orange Cup. Butler has overtaken him.
This is Butler’s 300th T20I match. He has achieved this feat in his 300th T20I match. Butler scored his first century in the ongoing IPL. This is Butler’s second century in the IPL. Earlier, in 2021, he had scored 124 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. This is Butler’s third century in the T20 format overall. Butler is the fourth English batsman to score a century in the IPL. Kevin Peterson, Ben Stokes and Johnny Bairstow have done so before. Peterson has scored a century in the 2012 IPL, Stokes 2018 and 2020 IPL, Bairstow 2018 IPL.
