Bhubaneswar: Padma Shri Rajat Kumar Kar, a prominent literary figure in the afterlife. Ranjit Kar, his son, died of a heart attack at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar at the age of eight. His demise has left an indelible void in the entire world of Odisha.


He suffered a heart attack and was taken to a private hospital. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was well-known at home by describing the rath yatra trend on TV and radio. Similarly, he has made an invaluable contribution to the world of Oriya literature. He was awarded the Padma Shri last year by the Central Government for his outstanding contribution to the field of literature and education.

Rajat Kumar Kar, born in 1938 in Cuttack district, is a well-known scholar and spokesman for the Jagannath culture. Mr. Kar, who holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, retired from the post of director of the SCERERT for a long time in the education department of the Government of Odisha. He was constantly working to popularize Bhanj literature. He has authored a number of plays, poems and essays.
