Bengaluru: In the 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 runs on the basis of a half-century innings by captain Faf du Plessis. In the match played at the N Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, Rajasthan fought till the end and won. The batting and bowling did well in both the departments, with RCB earning their fourth win in the seventh match while Rajasthan Royals suffered their fourth loss in the same match. The points of the first six teams are equal, but Rajasthan Royals are on top of the points table due to their better run rate.

Batting first, captain Faf Duplessis once again played a brilliant inning and scored 62 runs while Maxwell scored 77 runs. The rest of the batsmen could not stay at the crease for long. Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma took two wickets each for Rajasthan. In reply, Rajasthan Royals scored 182 runs for the loss of 6 wickets with the help of Devdutt Padikal’s 52 runs and Yashvi Jaiswal’s 47 runs. Dhruv Jurel remained unbeaten after scoring 34 runs. Harshal Patel has taken the maximum 3 wickets from Bangalore.

RCB, electing to bat first after losing the toss, got a shock on the very first ball of the match. Please inform that batsman Virat Kohli (0) left for the pavilion. Shahbaz Ahmed (2) was dismissed after scoring 12 runs for the team. Captain Faf Duplessis and Glenn Maxwell handled the innings after the double strike. Both batted explosively and put pressure on the Rajasthan bowlers. Both the batsmen completed their respective half. Duplessis was dismissed for the team’s score of 139 runs. He scored 62 runs in 39 balls with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. He and Maxwell shared a 127-run partnership for the third wicket. Maxwell returned to the pavilion after Duplessis. He scored 77 runs in 44 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes. After the dismissal of two batsmen, RCB once again lost wickets at regular intervals. Dinesh Karthik scored 16 runs. RCB could not reach double figures in case of 8 batsmen. In the end Bangalore scored 189 runs losing 9 wickets.
