Sports Talent Search Program Launched, Blockchain Talent Selection for 12 Series
Bhubaneswar: The Department of Sports and Youth Services is launching a sports talent search program for boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 15 at the Odisha block, district and state levels.
Through the departmental portal, 40,954 boys and girls from 30 sports disciplines applied for the program online. At the block level, 31.9 boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 15 have been invited in 12 series to fill the vacancies in the state’s sports dormitories. These disciplines are archery, athletics, cycling, basketball, football, gymnastics, hockey, judo, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling. Separate talent selection work is underway for swimming and weightlifting.
In 30 districts of the state, 145 test centers have been set up at the block level. Each writing center will have one senior sports teacher center in charge. In addition, other employees will take on different responsibilities. At the state level, the technical training of district sports officials and center chiefs has been successfully carried out at Kalinga Stadium. The training of the data operators involved in the program has also been completed. Programs will be held at the block and district levels under the direct supervision of the district governors. In each district, a senior officer is assigned a nodal officer. The district sports officer will coordinate with all of them to manage the work. Steps have been taken to provide the minimum necessary facilities for boys and girls at the testing center.
All boys and girls and their parents have been notified of the test site, time and date through their registered mobile. Again, their school has been notified. Contestants are required to bring a valid birth certificate.
The department has made all preparations to conduct this work in a disciplined manner. It uses adequate technology and technology. State-level programs will be held after the completion of the block and district. Special programs will be organized for boys and girls who are interested in other sports disciplines in the sports dormitory in collaboration with the concerned state sports organizations. Students, teachers, parents, coaches, and sports organizations are urged to work together to make the event a success.
