Sushant Singh case: Chargesheet filed against 35 people, including Riya Chakraborty
MUMBAI: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against Bollywood actress Riya Chakraborty in a drug case involving Sushant Singh Rajput. The NCB alleges that Riya Chakraborty, the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend, bought drugs from several other accused, including her brother, and handed them over to Sushant. Riya and 36 others have been named in the chargesheet filed by the NCB in the high-profile case, which began after Sushant Singh’s suicide in 2020.
Last Tuesday, the Bureau of Narcotics Control (NCB) filed a drug complaint in the drug case involving the murder of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, alleging that actress Riya Chakraborty had repeatedly smuggled cannabis from other accused, including her brother Shovik.
The NCB filed a chargesheet against 35 accused in the Special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act (NDPIS) court last month, the details of which were made available on Tuesday.
Special Judge VG Raghubanshi, who is hearing the case related to the NDPS Act, has set July 24 as the date for the hearing. Riya Chakraborty was arrested in September 2020 and released by the Bombay High Court a month later. Following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput on June 19, 2020, the NCB launched an investigation into allegations of drug use in the film and television industry.
