Thomas Cup: Indian Badminton team wins medal after 43 years
BANGKOK: The Indian men’s badminton team advanced to the Thomas Cup semifinals for the first time in 43 years, defeating Malaysia 3-2 in the quarterfinals. In addition, India have secured at least a bronze medal in the Thomas Cup. India have not won a medal in the event since the 19th.

India had already reached the inter-zonal final and won three bronze medals. For the first time since the change in the qualifying format, India have secured a medal in this prestigious tournament.
